XIE: CHINA’S MOVES ARE INSUFFICIENT IN STOPPING BUBBLES

Andy Xie, an independent analyst and former chief Asia economist at Morgan Stanley, talks with Bloomberg’s Jon Erlichman and Deirdre Bolton about the Chinese central bank’s policy and concerns about rising inflation in the nation. China ordered banks to set aside more deposits as reserves for the second time in a month to cool the fastest-growing economy. The reserve requirement will increase 50 basis points effective Feb. 25, the People’s Bank of China said on its Web site today.
