ECRI: NO DOUBLE DIP “YET”, BUT SLOW-DOWN IS CERTAIN

Lakshman Achuthan sat down with the Wall Street Journal’s Simon Constable to discuss the outlook for the global economy and provide more details on his recent call for a global slow-down. Β He says the acceleration in downward growth is gaining momentum and that this is not the same environment we entered last year when the economy rebounded after a brief slow-down. Achuthan says the economy is not set to double dip “yet”, but the slow-down in global industrial growth could lead us down the road of double dip. Importantly, Achuthan says the current slow-down is likely to last “several quarters” rather than the brief slow-down we experienced last year.
