Chinese equities tumbled over 3.4% overnight as leading indicators disappointed and deepened fears that Chinese growth is slowing. The index is now off 30% from its 2009 highs and over 21% this quarter. As we have noted previously, Chinese equities have proven to be a reliable leading indicator in recent years. Investors would be wise to take note of the action abroad.
