Ask Me Anything

Since the Q&A’s have always been so popular I am going to make an Ask Me Anything section a regular fixture on the site here. This will be a nice middle ground between having a comments section (which is too much work and trouble) and having no user commentary at all. I tried this once before with a link to a separate site, but it just didn’t work very well. This Q&A style will allow users to ask questions and answer in a forum format.  Of course, I will answer the questions where and when I can, but you all can also use the AMA section to interact.

You can always find the link in the top right corner of the site under the “Ask Me Anything” tab.  I hope it is helpful and enhances the educational aspects of the site.

Update: here’s the first question which is a pertinent one:

Johan: Hi Cullen. When do you think the Fed will raise rates and what will be the market impact? Thanks.

CR: Hi Johan. Your guess is as good as mine, but I think they’ll wait until Q4 at the earliest and more likely Q1 2016. The economy just doesn’t look strong enough and the Euro worries have to have the Fed on hold for a while.

The impact will really depend on the timing. Generally, rising rates are a GOOD sign because it means that the economy is getting stronger and the Fed is starting to try to get ahead to the boom. So, the start of rate hikes are not necessarily bearish.
