On immigration again

Look. I’m a huge fan of amnesty for illegal immigrants. ok? In fact, I would be very happy if I could just move to USA and then get amnesty and receive a green card after a few years.

There are at least 4 billion people on Earth who would, if immigration to USA was unrestricted, pack up at once and make the move. OK? Do you get this? The question is, what will you do after giving 11 million people a free green card? What about me? What about the other 4 billion people on planet Earth who would also like to move to USA?

What is the question you’re asking?

“There are at least 4 billion people on Earth who would, if immigration to USA was unrestricted, pack up at once and make the move.”

But the immigration to the US *is* restricted, so what is your point?

I think some of the people arguing about immigration and climate change could use a primer in the very very basics.

I’m telling the virtue signalling liberals calling for amnesty, that if you want to give a green card to 11 million illegal immigrants, you better be prepared to give out 4 billion more.

Yeah, but no one is saying that the USA should have uncontrolled entry.

Again, why do these conversations on topics like immigration and climate change seem to always veer in the direction of the most extreme outcome?

I’ll go extreme on this issue, a PHD from MIT or Stanford or wherever comes with a Green Card attached.

Yeah, I agree the idea that obtaining a degree here means auto citizenship seems like such a no brainer.
